SKY Campus Workshop at UAB School of Health Professions

The University of Alabama Birmingham School of Health Professions, one of the largest health professions schools in the United States, brought the SKY Campus Happiness Retreat to their campus. They hosted two three day SKY Breath Meditation workshops attended by students, faculty and the Dean and Associate Dean for the School of Health Professionals.

Attendees worked with a certified SKY meditation instructor to learn  research-backed breathing techniques, cognitive reframing tools, and reflective group activities to promote greater resilience and wellness. Research has shown the techniques to help clinicians support mental health and well-being, strengthen self-compassion, build resilience, address and prevent burnout, promote a culture of well-being and improve team cohesiveness. Upon completion, the participants shared about the immediate impact of the program on their state of mind and sense of wellbeing.
