World Culture Dance Contest

World Culture Dance Contest (WCDC) is the first of its kind, inter-collegiate dance competition! The goal of WCDC is to uplift mental well-being in students across the country, to inspire a larger sense of belonging, and to create inclusion and a celebration of diversity through cultural performances. The competition did this by combining a beautiful diversity of all different dance forms and cultures in the same competition, with a focus on mental well-being and time for meditation.

The SKY Campus Happiness team reached out to over 1000 universities & colleges and invited dance teams of all cultures, and sizes to apply. The top 10 best dance teams who applied – traveled to Washington DC to perform in front of a panel of celebrity judges (for cash prizes) at the in-person competition in Washington DC, as a lead-up to the 4th World Culture Festival in September 2023.

The winners were the Tropical Riddimz team from Howard University!
